The 1st Step

So far . . .

Finally, after brainstorming ideas I headed straight to action! I began by contacting the recycling companies, asking if we could give them our recycling paper, bottles, etc. They haven't replied yet, however we are one step closer! Hassan is in charge of taking care of making the bins for recycling paper, and all we need to do now is find out how many bins we need and buy the materials needed! I also contacted the company that make re-usable bags and asked what the bags are made of, as they need to be environmentally friendly. In addition, I contacted the PTA to ask if they could fund us in any way as this is Lastly, I talked to the head of the school to ask whether we could have the cleaners take care of collecting the recycling paper everyday after school and I am working on that currently.

Lets reflect . . .

I am hoping that by the end of these two years, I will have raised awareness of the environment at KISU, and also made a small but significant change to environment in Uganda! It might be challenging and require a lot of planning, but knowing that once I leave KISU I would have made a change will help motivate me to complete successfully!
